Mr. Milton Paul Godbee Sr., 58, died Aug. 16

Mr. Milton Paul Godbee Sr., 58, of Millen died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008 at his residence.

His funeral was held 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at West Millen Baptist Church with the Revs. Steve Golden and Steven Adams officiating. Burial was in the Millen Cemetery.

Mr. Godbee was born in Burke County. He was an employee with the City of Millen and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Godbee and Lois McGlohorn Wilson, and his father-in-law, George (Tick) Dudley.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Dudley Godbee; a son, Milton Paul (Rhonda) Godbee Jr.; a sister, Helen Godbee (Joe) Wilson, all of Millen; a brother, Ricky Olin (Barbara) Godbee of Savannah; and four granddaughters, Amanda Lynn Godbee, Anna Renee Godbee, Jessica Haley Godbee and Heather Elizabeth Godbee.

Active pallbearers were Steve Gaston, Jimmy Dodgen, Britt Claxton, Les Claxton, Bobby Chance, Rufus Small, Johnny Thomas and Clay Boulineau.

Memorials may be made to the West Millen Baptist Church Building Fund.
