Mr. Howard Lee Norris, Sr., 78, died Aug. 21

Mr. Howard Lee Norris Sr., 78, of Millen entered into rest Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008.

His funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at Rosemary Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Dann officiating. Private family burial followed in the Norris Family Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Norris was born in Morgan County, Ohio. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and he retired in 1995 as road superintendent for Jenkins County. He attended Rosemary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Wendell Norris and Belva Walker Norris, and a son, Howard Lee Norris Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Donna (Bonnie) Sego Norris; three sons, Paul (Billie) Mackey of Texas and Frank Williamson and Charles L. (Connie) Fitch Jr., both of Millen; four daughters, Debbie Norris Figueroa of Fla., Cindy (Bert) Ware of Florida, Ouida (Larry) Pent of Florida and Donna May Johnson of Millen; a daughter-in-law, Dottie Norris of Florida; a sister, Louise N. Price of Ohio; six granddaughters, Donna L. (Bobby Finch) Morris, Andrea Mackey, Lauren Williamson, Anjanette Figueroa-Bess, Brandi Hernandez and Brittany Figueroa; 15 grandsons, Jason Norris, Justin (Christina) Norris, Joey (Shannon) Williamson, Aaron (Robin) Mackey, Garrett (Ashley) McDaniel, Chase and Kristopher Fitch, Larry Pent Jr., Michael and Timmy Pent, Bert (Melanie) Ware Jr., Richard Ware, Grant Johnson, Daniel Johnson and Michael Baso; 11 great-grandchildren, Nathan and Kaylee Norris, Gabriel Morris, Joshua, Rebecca and Sunshine Williamson, Connor Mackey, Michael Baso Jr., Nikolas Hernandez, Garbrielle Hernandez and Eric Bess Jr.

Active pallbearers were Chase Fitch, Grady Lane Jr., Roy Cheney, Quinnie Lane Jr., Travis Tapley and Bobby Finch Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Quinnie Lane Sr., Randall Gay Sr., Randy Lane and Lester Brinson Jr.

Visitation was held 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Crowe- Fields Funeral Home.
