JCHS to hold meeting for senior students, parents

The Jenkins County High School Senior Parent/Student Night meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at the Jenkins County Agriculture Building, located across the street from the high school, according to Ruth Hearn, guidance counselor.

Ms. Hearn will be presenting a program advising students and parents of certain senior deadlines as well as the process for apply- ing for scholarships and HOPE eligibility. Representatives from Swainsboro Technical College and East Georgia College will be available to discuss admissions requirements with the students. Seniors and parents are urged to attend this very important meeting.

Individual senior conferences are set up with each senior during the week of Sept. 8-12. Seniors will receive their appointment slip next week, and they are encouraged to invite a parent to attend. Parents, are asked to please check with their senior to determine when their individual conference is scheduled and to make plans to come. This is the time students review their transcript and make plans for their college applications. These will be held in the counselor's office at the high school.
