Millen News travels to Hawaii
 | | The Millen News recently traveled with Houston Bowers to Hawaii. Bowers is shown in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu. He was one of 300 selected by the Elite Sports International (ESI) group to play in a high school all-star type football game. He was on the Georgia/Florida/Iowa team, which placed second out of the 12 teams participating in the 2008 King Kamehameha Pigskin Classic. Bowers visited the Aloha Flea Market, Pali Lookout, Hanlona Blow Hole, Sunset Beach, North Shore, Hanauama Bay, Waimanalo Town and the USS Arizona Memorial (Pearl Harbor.) He also attended a Paradise Cove luau, hiked to the top of Diamond Head Crater and played football in the Aloha Stadium, home of the University of Hawaii football team and the Pro Bowl. His sponsors were: Millen Loan and Finance, Gay Loan and Finance, Gunn Wood Co., Screven Wood Co., George Gunn, Evelyn Young, Roy Cook, Bud Johnson, Jim Riddle, Joe and Pat Allison, Jody and Nan Bowers, Herb and Deborah Thompson, Frank and Anne Jones, Brian Cook, Sylvia Butler, his grandmother, his mother and his father.
