Complete transformation

Patricia Frye's class recently released butterflies into the community. The butterflies had been raised from the larvae stage in an artificial butterfly home. Class member Jeremy Gay brought the butterflies from home to share the experience with the class. The students fed the butterflies sugar water and kept them comfortable for the several months it took the butterflies to travel through their metamorphosis. At right, Frye is shown assisting Gay in releasing the butterflies into the wild, as the other classmates watch. Below, classmates who participated in the butterfly release are, from left, first row: Meredith Saxon, Chloe Neasbitt, Mollie Dann, Jeremy Gay, Keyon Scott, Jordin Nesbitt, Robrianna Coney, Edwin Hernandez, Jiyus Brady, Nolan Dickens, Amir Golff and Tyaira Wadley; and back row: teacher Patricia Frye, Iyana Johnson, Jarial Cox, Jazzion Stephens, Buddy Harbin, Robert Bryant and Nokia Young.
