Emanuel Missionary Baptist Association celebrates 100 years

The Emanuel Missionary Baptist Association will celebrate 100 years as an association at their annual meeting in October. The planning committee, appointed by Moderator the Rev. Cail Pressey, planned three special nights of services to celebrate "100 Years of Kingdom Service."

The first service will be held Sunday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. at Hawhammock Baptist Church, 23 Hawhammock Road, in Swainsboro. Guest speaker for the event will be Dr. J. Robert White, executive director of the Georgia Baptist Convention. Dr. Jon Duncan of the Georgia Baptist Convention will lead the music service.

On Monday, Oct. 20, services will be held at First Baptist Church, 240 West Main St., Swainsboro, beginning with dinner at 6 p.m. Dr. Michael Guido of Metter, "The Sower," will be guest speaker, along with Dr. J. Gerald Harris, editor of "The Christian Index."

First Baptist Church of Twin City will be the location for services on Tuesday, Oct. 21, beginning at 6 p.m. Dr. Charles V. Drummond, ministry resource consultant for the East Central Georgia Region, will be guest speaker.

All former pastors, music directors, youth directors and members of the Emanuel Missionary Baptist Association churches are invited to attend these services.
