Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor,

Those of you who chose to make the trip to Valdosta to see the Jenkins County High School (JCHS) Drama Team perform were truly blessed by the compassion, sincerity and effort these young ladies and men put into their performance. These young performers represented Jenkins County with a lot of pride and poise.

Thank you, Mrs. Dasher and everyone else who put time and effort into this performance. We had the pleasure to sit through it three times, and every time the effort was always there. It takes a lot of time and experience to make a performance happen.

As for the seniors: your performance and effort will not go unrecognized; as for the underclassmen: you stick together and I know you will have the chance to bring another Region Championship to Jenkins County. And this time, a possible state championship.

We sat through every play after play; the competition was very stiff, but JCHS was not out performed. They held their own and represented our school, town and county well against schools with bigger budgets, who have been to the state level before and knew what it would take to win.

We are proud of you, and look forward to what you will bring to the stage next year. Your play of choice left the audience in awe. We feel you could even enhance the play "Booby Trap" with your own new ideas and bring it to another level. We also feel whatever your choice will be for next year will be even better than this year.

We need more parents behind them to support them. If you missed them, you missed a treat. It was a great performance of the arts; not on a football field or baseball field, or even the basketball court, where, in the past, we have enjoyed many great performances. But this time, on the stage, where everything stands still except the performers.

Congratulations. Mission accomplished. We salute you. We look forward to next year.

Lindsey, Jean and

Toby Williams

Dear Editor:

Hats off to Planters EMC for the delightful program they sponsored last week at the Pal Theatre. Mark Ballard entertained the crowd and put everyone in the Christmas spirit. The program, refreshments and fellowship were a treat for all attending.

Planters EMC and Eagle Pharmacy presented a lovely gift to Millen's citizens.
