Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

Your 'Chatter Box' lament about the lack of family viewing material on television being hard to find confounded me. The simple solution is to turn off the television. No matter what you watch that you would consider a suitable "family" movie, you also watch at least one-third of the time of the show in commercials. This is not certain, (no one knows what goes on behind closed doors except those who are there,) but you probably consider Disney to be "good family viewing." You should think twice about Disney, and who and what it represents. Disney assigns human qualities to animals, and preaches the gospel of magic and witchcraft. The miracles that Jesus performed pale in comparison to what can be represented on television or in the movies.

If you truly want "good family entertainment," then I suggest that you turn off the television and get out the Scribble or Monopoly or any other board game. You can also get out a good book and go around the table reading passages and discussing what you have read. If you seek "entertainment" during the day, you can go outside and pitch horseshoes or throw darts. There is also the "entertainment" of doing projects with your children. These are the times we remember most in our lives - not some show we saw on TV.

This is just my humble opinion. You can take it or leave it alone, but please don't complain anymore about what is on TV or the content of movies.
