Clarence Travis Overstreet, 56, of Perkins, died Wednesday, May 14, 2009 at his residence.

He was born in Jenkins County, a retired heavy equipment operator for Burke County after 30 years and he was a Baptist.

Funeral Services were held 11 a. m. Saturday, May 16, at the Green Fork Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Freeman and the Rev. Jeff Gibson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his fiance, Lucille Stewart; three sons, Jim P. Stewart of Perkins, C. Travis Overstreet Jr., and James William (Ikey) Overstreet of Springfield, N.C.; a daughter, Kaye Thomas of Perkins; two sisters, Mary Hunter of Waynesboro and Betty Jean Overstreet of Stockton; four brothers, Edward Overstreet of Perkins, Dusty and James Overstreet of Millen and Dorsey Overstreet of Perkins; 11 grandchildren and a great- grandchild.

Active Pallbearers were Kenny Overstreet, Jimmy Overstreet, Billy Overstreet, Steve Sikes, Danny Miles and John Atkinson.

Crowe-Fields Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
