Emory Grady Lane Jr., 72, died Sunday, May 31, 2009. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at

the Elam Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Farmer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Lane was born in Jenkins County. He was a Georgia Air National Guard veteran, retired from the U. S. Soil Conservation Service and farming and a member of the Elam Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his sister,

Ernestine Mallard, and his parents, Emory G.

and Ruby Joiner Lane Sr.

Survivors include his son, Emory G. (Sonya) Lane III, of Warner Robins; two daughters, Susan L. (Steven) Rheaume, of Augusta, and Donna M. Lane, of Albany; a sister, Martha L. Henry, of Millen; three grandchildren, Danielle L. Rheaume, Bradley K.. Lane and Ashley E. Lane; a nephew, Mike (Stacy) Henry, of Martinez; and a niece, Karen (Eric) Olsen, of Winston Salem, N.C.

Active pallbearers were Charlie Waters, Steve Rheaume, Brad Lane, Mike Henry, Justin Henry and Daniel Henry.

Honorary pallbearers were the Men's Adult Sunday School Class.

Crowe-Fields Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
