Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson Mitchel Taffet Gene and Bonnie Wiggins of Millen announce the marriage of their daughter, Genie, to Jefferson Mitchel Taffet of Athens. The private ceremony was held 7 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at Cannon Beach, Oregon.

Genie is the granddaughter of Katie Edenfield Lewis and the late Thomas Cecil Lewis and the late Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Wiggins Sr., all of Millen.

Jefferson is the son of Bob and Linda Taffet of Montgomery, Ala. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sigmund Segall of Montgomery and the late Mr. and Mrs. Mitchel Taffet of New Jersey.

Geni graduated from Jenkins County High School and the University of Georgia. She is currently the artistic/education director at Athens Rock Theatre/ Goarts. She is also employed as a dance teacher at Oconee Youth School of Performance.

Jefferson graduated from Jefferson Davis High School of Montgomery and the University of Georgia. He and Genie co-own the Company Careaway Cakes. Com of which he is the manager.

The couple will make their home in Athens.
