Friends of Magnolia Spring State Park plan

The Friends of Magnolia Springs State Park invites everyone interested in improving the park to join part in a work day 8 a.m. until noon Saturday, Aug. 22. Participants are asked to bring the tools of their expertise including but not limited to shovels, rakes, pruning instruments, trowels and the like.

At noon, the Friends and park staff will provide a cookout of hamburgers and hot dogs with other refreshments for all volunteers.

Individuals as well as families and organizations are all welcome to join in a day of fun, work and fellowship on behalf of Magnolia Springs.

Also, the Friends of Magnolia Springs State Park will hold this month's meeting on 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at Shelter #2. Members are expected, interested individuals invited.

Mammography Van comes to Millen

The University Hospital Mobile Mammography Van will be in Millen at the Jenkins County Hospital on the second Thursday of each month.
