The Rev. Grady H. Hargrove, husband of the late Bernise Elizabeth Pierce Hargrove, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009 at Bethea Baptist Retirement Community in Darlington, S.C.

Funeral services were held 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009 at Green Fork Baptist Church in Perkins with the Rev. James Ray Freeman, Dr. Maurice Crowder and the Rev. Jeff Gibson officiating. Burial was at Green Forks Baptist Church Cemetery.

Rev. Hargrove was born June 24, 1926. He attended Brewton Parker College and served as a Baptist minister for 64 years.

Survivors are daughters, Cecile (Addison) Bell and Dona (Jerry) Locklair; grandsons, Addison Key Bell IV, John Scott Bell, Jeremy Locklair and Jason Grady Locklair; great-granddaughter, Brittany Elizabeth Bell; sister, Lorene Reynolds; and brother, Edward Hargrove.

Memorials may be made to any Southern Baptist Mission.

Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home in Bishopville, S.C. and Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home in Sylvania, were in charge of arrangements.
