In recent weeks I have received a flood of telephone calls from people who want to "verify our free listing" in some type of directory. I never knew there were so many free directories in circulation or that the newspaper was listed in any of them.

What really annoys me, however, is that out of the dozen or so "representatives" that have called the office, all had such heavy foreign accents that I could only understand about half of what was said. And on top of that, I had to "spell" everything for them - street address, city, my name, etc.

Communication is essential to all business dealings, and it is especially important when attempting to do business over the telephone. So, please, put someone on the phone that speaks and understands English. This is the United States, and we speak English here.
