The sign up period began Monday, Aug. 3, and ends on Monday, Aug. 31. The Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission (GSWCC) will oversee the program, and the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) will provide technical assistance to land owners.
To participate in the program, landowners must provide a minimum of 25 percent of the cost, while the Conservation Commission will fund 75 percent, not to exceed $50,000, of the estimated cost as determined by the NRCS.
