John "Frank" Stephens, 69, of Millen passed Aug. 19, 2009, from lung cancer in Thousand Oaks, Cal.

His funeral will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 4, 2009 at Millen Cemetery.

Mr. Stephens was born in Millen in 1940 to his late parents, Eugene and Lucy Stephens. He served three years in the Air Force and retired as Master Sergeant after 30 years in the Air National Guard. He worked 40 years for Ameripride in Los Angeles, Calif. and retired in 2008 but continued to support one of his best customers for another year.

He loved baseball, football, Nascar and enjoyed going to sports events with friends and family. He especially loved watching his grandson's athletic antics. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Carrie; grandsons, Sterling and baby brother on the way; and many close friends who also loved him dearly.
