Workforce Development Program no

longer taking applications

It was announced this week that the application process for participation in the Workforce Development Program has ended. Those who have already applied should make sure that they are registered with Georgia Department of Labor.

A Department of Labor Transitional Office is located in The Millen News building located at 856 Cotton Avenue.

MHS Classes of 1949 and 1950

to hold reunion

Millen High School classes of 1949 and 1950 will celebrate their 59th and 60th reunion Saturday, Oct. 3, Fair-on-the-Square day, at McKinney's Pond.

Classmates will gather at 6 p.m. and eat at 7 p.m.

478) 982-4317. Class of 1950 members may RSVP to Gloria Bargeron at (478) 982-4409.

The deadline for RSVP is Friday, Sept. 25.

Grandparents invited to eat breakfast at JCES

Jenkins County School Food Service will celebrate Grandparents' Day at the Jenkins County Elementary (JCES) cafeteria. Grandparents are invited to eat breakfast with their grandchildren Thursday, Sept. 10, for grades kindergarten, second and fourth, and Friday, Sept. 11, for grades Pre-K, first, third and fifth.

Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. Pre-k eats at 8:30 a.m. The cost of an adult breakfast is $2.

Edenfield Reunion

The 2009 Edenfield reunion will be held 11 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 6, at Magnolia Springs State Park , group shelter #2.
