Eagles outlast Panthers
|
The Eagles, 1-1, defeated the Panthers, 13-8 and captured their first win of the season. Although the Eagles failed to put any points on the scoreboard during the second, third and fourth quarters, their two touchdowns in the first quarter sealed the game.
Quarterback Will Brinson completed a 64-yard touchdown pass to Jay Bowers, giving the Eagles an early lead. Dondre DeJesus followed with a 3-yard rush up the middle for a touchdown, widening their lead.
The Eagle defense held the Panthers to just 2 points during the first half and 6 during the second half. The defense only allowed one touchdown, al- though the Panther offense was in the red zone on 5 separate drives.
The Eagles will look to increase their winning streak as they host Savannah Country Day for their first home game of the season this Friday at 7:30 pm.
