(Photo contributed) The Millen Gentlemen's Gourmet Dining Club (MGGDC) provided the following report on their recent visit to Net's Seafood and Steak. This restaurant is located south of Sylvania, off Hwy 24. Look for the signs. It is 28 miles from Millen.

The view is rural and relaxing, with cows grazing in the pasture and catfish splashing in the adjacent pond. Décor is simple, rustic and functional. Net's is open 4-10 p.m. Thursday thru Saturday. No credit cards - cash or checks only. They feature an appetizer bar with grits, an excellent beef cabbage soup and plentiful hushpuppies. Cheese, butter and sour cream are adjacent for self-service.

All members ordered the $14.95 seafood special which included shrimp, oysters, scallops and a choice of catfish or flounder, as well as potato. Steak was reportedly excellent. Other items are available. Amy provided excellent service. Food was served hot and beverage glasses were never empty.

Members reported the convenient location makes return trips a certainty. Net's received the MGGDC highest rating of five bowls out of five.

Until next time, bon appetit!
