Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Timothy Morey Ashley Elizabeth Walker and Joshua Timothy Morey were united in marriage on June 6, 2009 at Thomson First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Beverly Wilkerson Casstevens officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Walker and the granddaughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson Echols and the late Mr. Harold L. Echols of Millen and the late Mr. and Mrs. Milton E. Walker Sr. of Lincolnton.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. Joel Timothy Morey and Ms. Robin Eick Morey and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Carson Robert Eick Sr. and Mrs. Geneva Morey Kitchings of Augusta and the late Mr. Robert C. Morey.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Ashley, Josh and guests celebrated in the United Methodist tradition of Thanksgiving and Communion during the ceremony.

Nuptial music was provided by Jennifer Harbeson Sandifer, pianist, Charlie Cullen Powell, pianist and Molly Harris Edmondson, violinist. Wesley Echols Walker, brother of the bride, and Jennifer Lauren Morey, sister of the groom, sang "Your Love Is Extravagant."

The Maid of Honor was Megan Anna Furedy of Atlanta, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Lauren Morey, sister of the groom, Lauren Anastasia Allen of Thomson, Cassidy Brooke Story of Augusta and Ashley Brooke Byce of Watkinsville, all friends of the bride.

Junior Bridesmaids were Jessica Eleanor Shields of Waycross, cousin of the bride, and Cassidy Louise Wright of Thomson, cousin of the groom.

Mr. Joel Timothy Morey served as his son's Best Man. Groomsmen were David Ronald Johnson of Evans, Joseph Brett Marshall of Watkinsville, Caleb Marcus Plunkett of Athens, all friends of the groom, and Wesley Echols Walker of Athens, brother of the bride.

Junior Groomsmen were David Baxter Shields III, of Waycross, cousin of the bride, and Robert Dylan Wright of Thomson, cousin of the bridegroom.

Assisting with the wedding were acolytes Jacob Andrew Derry and Samuel Lucas Derry. Program attendants were Mary Burton Barmore, Elizabeth Ann Derry, Hannah Layne Derry and Jessica Laverne Langham, all friends of the bride. Whitney England Byce attended the bride's book. The wedding was directed by Pamela Cook Edmondson.

A reception, hosted by the bride's parents, was held at the family home in Thomson. Fay O'Neal, cousin of the bride, provided the wedding cake and groom's cake. Cake attendants were Donna Potts Bennett and Melanie Blakey Stitcher of Washington. The group Patwa of Hilton Head Island, S.C, provided music.

The couple enjoyed a honeymoon trip to Negril, Jamaica.

Ashley is a special education teacher at Gum Springs Elementary School in Jefferson, Georgia. Josh is a chemistry teacher, assistant football coach and head golf coach at Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Georgia. The couple resides in Gainesville, Georgia.
