Dorothy Degenhardt, 93, of Savannah died Nov. 7
Dorothy Perkins Degenhardt, 93, of Savannah, Ga., died Nov. 7, 2009.
She was born at Perkins in Jenkins County, daughter of the late Walter Cleveland and Freddie Bargeron Perkins.
Mrs. Degenhardt moved to Savannah in 1959 and was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Perkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Degenhardt Sr., local owner and operator of Krispy Kreme Doughnut Company and her son, Ralph Edward Degenhardt.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles F. Degenhardt Jr. and Judy Degenhardt of Savannah; Walter P. Degenhardt and Terri Degenhardt of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Dr. Charles F. Dagenhardt III and his wife, Marie of Columbia; Deborah Haupt and her husband, Harold of Savannah; Amanda D. Woosley of Atlanta and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation was 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 8, at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a Christian Wake Service at 5:30 p.m.
Her funeral was at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 9, at Magnolia Baptist Church in Perkins with the Rev. Bill Turner officiating.
Burial was in Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery.
