JCMS basketball schedule

The Jenkins County Middle School basketball schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, Dec. 1 – Collins, away; Monday, Dec. 7 – Metter, away; Tuesday, Dec. 8 – Collins, home; Tuesday, Dec. 15 – Portal, home; Wed, Dec. 16 and Thursday, Dec. 17 – Girls’ Christmas tournament, home; Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 – ECI, home; Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 – CCAT, home; Wednesday, Jan. 13 – ECI, away; and Tuesday, Jan. 19 – Metter, home. Game time is 4 p.m. for all games.

The public is invited to attend.

GED testing at

Southeastern Technical College

The GED examination will be given at Southeastern Technical College, Swainsboro campus, Monday, Dec. 7, and Tuesday, Dec. 8. Registration is required prior to testing.

GED registration is 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, in Building 8 and at 5 p.m. in Building 2, Room 2402.

A pictured ID and Social Security card must be presented. A $95 test fee is due at registration. Applicants must be 18 or older. If applicants are 18 or 19 years old, an official withdrawal from the last school attended must also be presented at registration.

Recreation Department holding

basketball registration

The Jenkins County Recreation Department is holding registration for basketball for boys and girls, ages 6-12.

A birth certificate and registration fee is required at sign-up. The deadline for signing up is Monday, Dec. 7.

Basketball season begins

The Jenkins County War Eagles will host the Johnson County Trojans in their season opener Tuesday, Dec. 1 in the Jenkins County School Gymnatorium. The JV game will begin at 4:30 pm followed by the girl’s varsity game at 6 p.m. The varsity boys will tip off at 7:30 p.m. Come out and support your War Eagles as their new season begins.
