Magnolia Springs to hold Heritage Festival
The third annual Heritage Festival will be held 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Magnolia Springs State Park.
The event will feature a variety of food and craft booths, a Living History Encampment with participants in period dress and educational programs throughout the day.
Relay for Life Kick-off to be held Dec. 3
The American Cancer Society’s 2010 Relay for Life of Jenkins County will hold a kick-off event 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at Planters Electric Membership Corporation.
Volunteers are asked to come and find out how to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
The local Relay for Life is set for May 14-15, 2010 at the Jenkins County Recreation Department.

Upward Basketball practice begins at
Oak Hill
Practice sessions for the Upward Basketball program at Oak Hill Baptist Church begins Monday, Dec. 7, with weekly practices throughout the next few weeks.
Coaches will be notifying their team members of the dates and times of their practices. Anyone who had not been notified by Dec. 7 should contact the church office at (478) 982-1616.
JCMS PTO meeting
The next meeting of the Jenkins County Middle School PTO and Open House is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, in the school cafeteria. The middle school spelling bee finals will also be held at this time. Parents will then be able to visit with teachers until 7:30 p.m.
