Janie Clyde Daughtry Davis, 88, passed away Nov. 23, 2009, at her residence in Sylvania.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 at the Sylvania First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Cooper and Josh Lanier officiating. Burial was at Screven County Memorial Cemetery.

She was a native of Screven County and was a homemaker. She was also a member of Sylvania First Baptist Church where she was a choir member. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Davis; a son, Van Ruben Davis; and her parents, Josh and Ellie Blackburn Daughtry.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Don and Mary Ellen Bowen of Tifton; sons and daughter-in-law, Glen T. Davis of Sylvania and Don G. and Margaret W. Davis of Cordele; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
