Let’s cook! That’s the theme for today’s Storytime Dec. 9. What’s on the menu? Bring in your elementary or pre-K child at 4 p.m. and find out. Next Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 4 p.m., we’ll have a holiday-themed Storytime.

Winter’s definitely on our doorstep. Come in and warm up with a free cup of coffee this Friday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. – noon.

Christmas is for children, they say – but there are many children who won’t have any presents under the tree without your help. Bring your new, unwrapped toy to the library to donate to Toys for Tots and make a child’s Christmas bright.

Get your own Just Desserts! Bid in our silent auction on sweets and baked goods created in the kitchens of some of our area’s best cooks, and help the Friends of the Jenkins County Memorial Library raise funds to help the library bring in great speakers, entertainment and events in the year to come! You’ve got until Friday, Dec, 18, to bring in your bids.

Bring in your baby for some one on one snuggle and play time with “Mommy & Me” Monday, Dec. 14, at 11:30 a.m. It’s a chance to grow closer as you sing nursery rhymes and learn new ways to play together. It’s a sweet way to show your love for your infant or toddler.

This week’s Dial-A-Story is about Hanukkah. Next week’s story is “A Visit to Santa Claus Land”. You can listen to these great stories – a different one every week! – for free by calling (478) 982-5898.

Our “New Book of the Week” is Overcoming ADHS: Helping Your Child Become Calm, Engaged and Without a Pill by Stanley I. Greenspan with Jacob Greenspan. Dr. Greenspan believes that by teaching techniques to pay attention, relate to others and maintain their focus, children and adults with ADHD can overcome their problems.
