(Photo contributed) Standing water in the roadway has been determined as the cause of a fatal 2-vehicle accident that occurred Monday, Dec. 14, on Ga. Hwy. 121, just north of Hooks Road in Jenkins County.

A Georgia State Patrol spokesperson said that Lillie Delores Lee, 57, of Millen was killed when the northbound vehicle she was driving hit water in the road and spun out of control into the southbound lane where it collided with a vehicle driven by Thelma Hooks, 72, of Millen.

Hooks was also injured in the accident and both women were transported to the Jenkins County Hospital by Jenkins County Emergency Medical Services personnel.
