“Upward” basketball underway at Oak Hill
The Upward basketball program has begun in the Family Life Center of the Oak Hill Baptist Church. The games begin at 9 a.m. with a game every hour through 3 p.m.
During the half time of each game, a brief devotional is given. The concession is open at 9 a.m. serving breakfast foods, a variety of snacks, hot dogs and drinks.
Children in grades K-7 participate in cheerleading and playing ball. Parents, grandparents and friends in the community are invited to come out and cheer for their favorite team.
Parker Grove Men’s Choir to hold anniversary
The Parker Grove Men’s Choir will hold their first Choir Anniversary 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at Parker Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Rocky Ford.
Pastor, Levon Alston and members invite the public to attend.
Needful Baptist Church to hold Pastor’s Appreciation
Needful Baptist Church will hold a Pastor’s Appreciation program for the Rev. James Waltower and First Lady Mary Waltower 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17.
The public is invited to attend.
Millen Baptist Church to host “Blackwood Legacy” in concert
The Nashville-based “Blackwood Legacy” gospel group, fea- turing former Blackwood Brothers Quartet lead singer and Gospel Music Hall of Fame Inductee Rick Price, will be performing 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at the Millen Baptist Church. Admission is free and a love offering will be received.
Price has gathered some of the most talented and sought-after gospel artists on the scene today to create a dynamic Blackwood Brothers tribute concert that features the well-remembered old favorites such as Beulah Land and How Great Thou Art. Included in the talent lineup is Washington State native, Luke Yates, a dynamic pianist and vocalist who recently exploded on the Gospel music scene, and former Florida Boys Tenor, Don E Thomas, with his signature “high as the sky” tenor voice.

Long Branch Church of God to host gospel concert
Long Branch Church of God will host a gospel music concert 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31.
The featured artist will be singer/songwriter Greg Day. He is the writer of many of today’s favorite songs like, “Midnight Cry” and “Angels in the Room.”
