Miss Jenkins County School pageant to be held March 6

The third annual Miss Jenkins County School beauty pageant will be held Saturday, March 6, at the Jenkins County gymnatorium. The three competition categories will be: Jenkins County Elementary School grades 3-5; Jenkins County Middle School grades 6-8; and Jenkins County High School (JCHS) grades 9-12.

Recreation Department holding registration for sports

The Jenkins County Recreation Department is now holding registration for t-ball, softball and baseball for ages 4-18. Participants should come by the department and signup.

A copy of birth certificate is needed, if one is not on file at the office. The deadline is March 4.

Baton lessons are now being offered at 4 p.m. Mondays. For more information, drop by the recreation department office or call 982-2943.

JCMS holds Donuts for Dads

All dads and granddads are invited to participate in the Jenkins County Middle School’s annual “Donuts for Dads Day” 7:34 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, in the media center.

This will be an opportunity to come to the school, have breakfast, and share with their child or grandchild’s homeroom class about their occupation and work experiences.
