Millen resident wins Toyota Yaris

She was the lucky finalist who drew the winning key when the Shepeard Community Blood Center culminated their Toyota Yaris give-away drawing. Mrs. Jenkins was one of eight finalists invited to draw a key in the contest.

Mrs. Jenkins donated in September 2009 at the Jenkins County Community Blood Drive. She has been a loyal blood donor with Shepeard since February 2000.

Created to entice blood donors, the promotion kicked off September 2009 with two finalists selected by random drawing each month from September-December. There were 18,112 hopefuls in the drawing, including the seven other finalists.

“The Yaris promotion was exciting and as a result 54,336 blood products were provided to patients in our local hospitals,” said Kevin Belanger, chief executive officer of Shepeard. “Every willing donor makes an impact on the great need for volunteer blood donations.”
