Dear Editor:

I have missed having the Syl- View Happenings in The Millen News, and I am looking forward to being able to share the Happenings with you soon. I have appreciated the kind remarks about the column and appreciate the opportunity to share our news.

It has been a difficult time for me, beginning with one of my assistants having a heart attack and was unable to return to work. And, then Margaret Johnson, my assistant for over 10 years, lost her battle with cancer, and I was left standing alone in the Activity Department.

New assistants have come into the Activity Department, but it takes time to learn a new work. I had the misfortune of being involved in an accident that resulted in months of doctors’ visits and a hospital stay. I am now in physical therapy and hope to be able to return to my full time schedule soon.

I am grateful for the Syl-View staff and volunteers who have made possible to keep activities available for the residents. We are grateful for the interest and support of our many friends in Millen and Jenkins County. And, I look forward to sharing our news with you very soon.
Betty Scarborough,
activity director
Syl-View Health Care
Center
