Syl-View Happenings
Marilyn Reddick is shown with her dolls.
A special happening was the Doll Show presented by Marilyn Reddick. Residents and staff gathered to enjoy the more than 30 dolls and to hear Marilyn tell how she adopted and restored many of the dolls. She had about 50 outfits which she had made for the dolls.
Mrs. Reddick’s family, children and grandchildren were on hand to assist. They took the dolls and the clothing to the residents on a one-to-one basis. The residents were able to cuddle the dolls, view the clothing up close, and many recalled the dolls they once had in years past.
The Reddick family provided and served refreshments to the group. Members of the Memorial Baptist Church helped serve, and there was great fellowship. The group enjoyed sandwiches, brownies, grapes, cheese and punch. We are so blessed to have community volunteers to share their hobbies and collections.
We celebrated French Fry Friday as staff, Jerry Hunters and other volunteers served hot
French Fries and colas to the residents. There was party music playing as the group was served. We strive to provide life’s simple pleasures as we celebrate the moments of our lives.
We are making plans for the Ms. Syl-View Pageant which is scheduled for Thursday, March
11, at 7 p.m. Justin Brannen will serve as master of ceremonies and Marilyn Reddick
will play the piano. The Sisters Act will entertain. There will be a Queens Court and former Ms. Syl-Views, Ella Rae Chance, Charity Bragg and Linnie Frawley, will be presented.
Many of our ladies will be in the Honor Court as they celebrate the achievements of a lifetime. Those who are contestants for Ms.Syl-View 2010 will be presented. Following the pageant there will be a reception hosted by Syl-View Dieting with punch provided by McBride United Methodist Women and food by Middleground Baptist Church and Syl-View. We invite you to come and enjoy the evening.
