The seventh annual Super Eagle Day will be held this Saturday at the Jenkins County Courthouse featuring one mile and 5K fun runs. The one mile event starts at 8:15 a.m., and the 5K starts at 9 a.m. The course is officially certified with the USATF association.

The cost for participants in the one mile event is $10, and 5K entry fee is $15. All participants will receive a T-shirt, and the top three finalists in each age group in both races will receive a trophy. All proceeds will benefit the Jenkins County girls and boys cross country teams.

Entry forms are available online at www.millenmilers.com or at the Jenkins County Elementary School office. Additional race details, age divisions and details are located on the entry forms.

BI-LO of Millen and Coca Cola of Augusta will be providing post race refreshments for participants.

An awards ceremony will immediately follow the conclusion of the 5K race, which is hosted by the Millen Milers and More.

Sponsors of this year’s event include: Jenkins County Family Enrichment Center, J.R.’s BP, Stitch-N-Print, Queensborough Bank, Panda Express, Southeast Construction, Clearing, Grading and Steel Building, Inc., Dr. Kyle Gay, R & M. Auto, Jalapenos Mexican Grill, Eagle Pharmacy, Royal Plumbing and Electric, Adrian Homes, Round’s Pizza, Seafood and More, Dairy Queen of Millen and Rocky Supply Inc.

“Without our sponsors’ dedication and support of local athletics, this event would not be possible,” commented Jimmy Brannen, organizer.
