Jenkins County Elementary School (JCES) Pre-Kindergarten registration for the 2010-2011 school year will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, and Wednesday, March 24, at the Jenkins County Agriculture Center located on Barney Avenue, across from the Jenkins County High School/Jenkins County Middle School.

Children must be four years of age by Sept. 1, 2010. Birthdays should be between Sept. 2, 2005 and Sept. 1, 2006.

Participation in the pre-k program is limited. Spaces will be filled on a first come, first served basis, based upon completion of the required documentation.

Please bring the following required documentation: Certified birth certificate (we will copy and return to you); Proof of Georgia residency (Preferred document for proof of residency is a current utility bill (not cell phone bill) with address of service listed on the bill. Ex: Ga. Power or Planters E.M.C.; Social Security Card for your child (If you cannot provide a social security card for your child, you will be required to sign a written statement regarding your reason; Proof your child participates in any of the following programs: Food Stamps, SSI, Medicaid, TANF, PeachCare or CAPS. (Proof for those receiving TANF or Food Stamps includes a letter of eligibility containing their client number and their card. Those who receive Medicaid or PeachCare should bring the card for the child they are registering. Those receiving SSI or CAPS should bring a letter of eligibility; and Current Immunization Record of Child (Form 3231 from the Health Department or child’s physician.

Parents are not required to bring the children they are registering. The application process is lengthy and involves waiting in line, so we recommend you make arrangements so that your child does not have to participate.

Registration packets are available at the JCES office, Jenkins County Family Enrichment Resource Center and the Jenkins County Board of Education. The application may also be obtained and completed at the registration site the two days of registration.
