A program in recognition of veterans and active duty military was held at Zion Baptist Church March 31.

Chief Warrant Officer 4, Darryll Simpkins presented a deeply moving and elegant speech connecting each brand of the military with current events, past events, the church and community. In his speech, Officer Simpkins illustrated how “we’re all connected.”

Officer Simpkins is the son of Jewell Anfield and the late Charles Anfield Sr.
