The Chatter Box
This Sunday is Easter. As with most holidays, there are certain traditions associated with Easter to which we have become accustomed – dying and hunting Easter eggs, Easter baskets, special meals and Easter clothing. None of this, however, has anything to do with why we celebrate the holiday.
Easter is a time to remember the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary and to celebrate His resurrection from the grave on the third day. Jewish leaders refused to believe that Jesus was the promised Messiah and insisted that Pilate execute him.
Jesus, however, went willing to the grave as the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of the world. And then He rolled the stone away and walked out of the tomb! The resurrection of Jesus is real. We worship a living Savior and can live forever because He does.
Happy Easter to all!

The cat is out of the bag. Joey McBride can sing.
Joey and Hubert Reeves III, whose wonderful vocal abilities are well-known throughout the community, provided entertainment at the Millen-Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce annual banquet last week. And it was great! Nice job!
“Kudos” to all who had a part in making the event so enjoyable.

Millen Better Hometown’s annual Easter Egg hunt is set to take place this Saturday at 11 a.m. at the ball fields located adjacent to the railroad tracks on West Winthrope Avenue.
This is always a fun-filled activity for local children – and adults. So, make plans to attend.
