Sasser named chief
From left, Mike Lane, North Jenkins County Volunteer Fire Department board president, present the white Fire Chief’s helmet to recently elected Wally Sasser Sr. Sasser was elected by ballot of the entire volunteer firefighter cadre. The NJCVFD Fire Chief is tasked with the day-to-day operations of the department’s four stations. He is also the public representative for the department. As Chief, he will hold a seat on the Board of Directors as the volunteer firefighters’ advocate. Chief Sasser will appoint his successor as Captain of Station #3 serving the Oak Hill- Scarboro area.
