Millen man wins a ‘jumbo’ $50,000

A Millen man has snagged a “jumbo” Georgia Lottery prize. Willie Clark, 46, played the instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic and won a $50,000 top prize.

He was so excited after winning that he had a restless night.

“I didn’t sleep,” said Clark, as he claimed his prize Tuesday at the Georgia Lottery’s Augusta office.

Cash Now, 1063 E. Winthrope Avenue, sold the winning ticket.

According to Clark, he hasn’t decided how to spend his winnings.

”I don’t know yet,” he said.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $11.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.2 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
