Qualifying to begin for General Primary Election

Qualifying as a Democratic or Republican candidate in the November General Primary Election will begin Monday, April 26, and continue through Friday, April 30. Candidates may qualify between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. April 26-April 29. The hours for qualifying on April 30 are 9 a.m. until noon.

Qualifying will take place in the office of Jenkins County Probate Judge Wanda Burke at the Jenkins County Courthouse.

Local seats up for election are State Court Solicitor, presently held by Troy Gay; Jenkins County Commissioner, District #2, presently held by Pamelia Ann Dwight; and Jenkins County Commissioner, District #5, presently held by James Henry.

Qualifying fees are: State Court Solicitor, $553.07; and Jenkins County Commissioner, District #2 and District #5, $126.
