He stated that when he lived in Perkins and attended Millen High School his father and Ella Ree Chance’s father were best friends. He had not had contact with Ella Ree for close to 60 years. They were were both excited to recall memories of yesteryear. We are excited to be able to bring friends in contact with one another. So thanks to The Millen News for this special happening.

We are getting our float ready for the Livestock Festival parade on Saturday. Our theme is “Memories -Then And Now” and we have pictures of residents, staff and volunteers on the sides and back of our red and silver float. Margaret Lovett, Ms.

Syl-View 2010 will be riding along with Betty Purvis, Adult Volunteer of The Year, Macie Brannen, Teen Volunteer of The Year, Jerry Hunter, representing the “Masters Club”, Group Volunteers of The Year. Richard and Vicki Bragg are so gracious to pull the float for us.We are happy to have their granddaughter and Jerry Hunter’s granddaughter riding in the parade for Syl-View. Ms Syl-View was a honored guest at the Livestock Festival Pageant Saturday night. She was excited as the spotlight was shone on her and she was recognized. She wore a purple dress, her sash and crown. She has been named as one of the 21 semi-finalist in the Ms. Georgia Nursing Home pageant to be held at Stone Mountain April 17.

These are exciting days, and ladies from Millen who have the title of Ms. Syl-View come to my mind. They were Willie Mae Wilson and Foustine Johnson.

We were thrilled to have children from the school come and sing for the residents.

They sang “Funny Bunny” which is a favorite of the residents, and they made Easter season brighter.

There was a birthday party for the residents who had March birthdays, hosted by

the True Love Church. And now it’s April, and we trust you will come visit us at Syl-View soon.
