The Chatter Box

By Deborah Bennett

As I am sure most of you have noticed, the actual resurfacing of Cotton Avenue began last week. After months of “riding the ruts,” a smooth surface on which to travel is great.

The front street already looks much better with the improvements made through the City of Millen’s TE-grants. A new surface will certainly be welcomed as well.

The parallel parking is one thing that I will have to work on, however!

Hopefully, one day soon, all of the highway construction through the City of Millen in connection with the Savannah River Parkway will also be completed. That is sure to improve the appearance of Highway 25 through our community as well.

I look forward to the day when all of the highway construction in completed!

Once again I want to remind everyone that due to space limitations, we may not be able to publish articles that are not time sensitive the week for which they are submitted. We do try to get time sensitive announcements in the same week they are submitted.

The computer which contains all of the military information that I normally publish in this column, is still at the “computer doctor.” So, I am unable to retrieve it again this week. I will get it back in as soon as the computer is repaired.
