Qualifying as a candidate in the upcoming November General Election began on Monday of this week and will continue through noon Friday. Qualifying will take place in the office of Jenkins County Probate Judge Wanda Burke at the Jenkins County Courthouse.

Local seats up for election are State Court Solicitor, presently held by Troy Gay; Jenkins County Commissioner, District #2, presently held by Pamelia Ann Dwight; and Jenkins County Commissioner, District #5, presently held by James Henry.

Qualifying fees are: State Court Solicitor, $553.07; and Jenkins County Commissioner, District #2 and District #5, $126.
