Business coming before the Jenkins County Commissioners during the group’s March 16 meeting was routine in nature with the commissioners taking the following actions:

• Approved a Beer and Wine license for purchase by Jimmy Roberson;

• Approved a new environmental monitoring contract for the Jenkins County Landfill in the amount of $10,567;

• Reached an agreement on a request from a resident seeking a waiver of landfill dumping fees on the trash from his mother’s house fire;

• Received a letter from Jenkins County School Superintendent Melissa Williams requesting that the commissioners and city council clean up North Avenue as this is the street outof town guests use to reach the new school gymnatorium; and

• Discussed Cobra insurance fees with two county employees who were present at the meeting.
