Lady War Eagles place second in Redskins Relays
The Jenkins County High School Lady War Eagle Track and Field team traveled to Bryan County March 26 to battle eight other schools in the second annual Redskins Relays. The Lady War Eagles came in a strong second behind Bryan County and also beat several AAA and AA teams.
Overall results for the meet were; Bryan County, 124 pts., Jenkins County, 108 pts., Southeast Bulloch 104.5 pts., Richmond Hill 94 pts., South Effingham 53 pts., Calvary Day 32.5 pts., Long Co. 27 pts., Portal 25 pts. and Montgomery Co. 8 pts.
Individual scoring: Ayana Walker, 1st Place 100 Meters (12.27), 1st Place 200 Meters (25.67) and 2nd Place Long Jump (14’ 9”); Zandra Lake, 1st Place 100 Hurdles (15.73), 2nd Place 300 Hurdles (52.90) and 2nd Place Triple Jump (33’ 7”); and Deondra Lewis, 1st Place Discus (94’ 6”) and 2nd Place Shot Put (34’ 5”).
Jasmen Taylor, 4th Place Long Jump (14’ 0”), 3rd Place 100 Hurdles (18.50) and 7th Place 300 Hurdles (1:01); Jocquette Sanders, 6th Place Triple Jump (24’ 7”); Chelsea Taylor, 4th Place Discus (82’ 5”) and 8th Place Shot Put (23’ 10”); Shae Burke, 8th Place 400 Meters (1:11) and Whitney Jones, 7th Place 800 Meters (2:39).
The 4 x 100 relay team finished 2nd Place and the 4 x 400 relay team finished in 5th Place.
