The Bethany Nursing Center of Millen will be celebrating National Nursing Home Week throughout the week of May 10-14. The residents and staff will be having the kick-off for the week on Monday, May 10.

An escorted tour of the city of Millen will begin at 10 a.m., starting at the facility. The group will travel in facility vehicles and golf carts provided by the staff members and Mr. Golf Cart of Waynesboro. The tour will end at the Millen- Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce where Jenkins County Sheriff Robert Oglesby will read and sign a proclamation for National Nursing Home Week. Balloons will be released to represent the beginning of Nursing Home Week.

Local businesses and members of the community are invited to help make this event special for the residents and give them a “wave” as they pass by on the tour. The community is also invited to be present for the signing of the proclamation and balloon lift.

The community is invited to visit the Bethany Home throughout the week and experience joy as part of the Bethany “family.”
