JCHS names honor graduates

Jenkins County High School’s Class of 2010 has 19 honor graduates and three National Technical Honor Society graduates.

Honor graduates are as follows.

Jessica Michelle Head, valedictorian, is the daughter of Mike and Anette Head. She plans to attend Georgia Southern College (GSU) and major in Nursing. Jena Alexis Branch, daughter of Dawn Parker and Gene Branch, is salutatorian. She plans to major in Psychology at GSU. La’Tranese Jeannel Sapp is the daughter of La’Tesa Williams (Ramone Coney) and Richard Sapp. She will attend Georgia State University and major in Biology and minor in Political Science. Don Arastus Gay IV, son of Don and Evelyn Gay, plans to attend East Georgia College (EGC), play baseball with their team and enter the medical field. Fetamia Christina Jordan is the daughter of Linda Lee Jordan. She will attend EGC and then transfer to GSU majoring in Pediatric Nursing with a minor in Sociology.

She plans to attend Ogeechee Technical College majoring in Accounting. Rachel Ellen Welch, daughter of Ron and Tina Welch, will continue her education a GSU. Rebecca Joanna Burke is the daughter of Joe and DeAnna Burke. She will attend GSU for two years then transfer to the University of Georgia seeking a degree in Agriculture Science. William Daniel Johnson, son of Casey Johnson Jr. and grandson of Casey Johnson Sr. and Yvonne Johnson, plans to attend EGC and then transfer to Valdosta State University (VSU) to become a plastic surgeon. Jessica Haley Godbee is the daughter of Mickey and Rhonda Godbee. She will attend EGC and major in Early Childhood Education.

Mikesha Charmain Williams, daughter of Sonja McNeely and Michael Williams, will attend GSU and major in Biology and minor in Journalism. She plans to further her education at the Medical College of Georgia seeking to become a pediatrician. Hannah Elizabeth Johnston is the daughter of Nick Johnston and Jennifer Wilson. She will attend EGC for General Studies and then transfer to VSU. Walter Edward Ivy Jr., son of Michelle Brown, will attend EGC majoring in Accounting and then transfer to GSU to complete his degree. Theordore Turner III is the son of Ted Turner Jr. and Aneta Turner. He plans to attend GSU and major in Political Science and Pre- Law. He will then transfer to a law school to become an attorney.

Natalie Nicole Branch, daughter of Johnny L. and Brenda L. Branch, will continue her career in the military as a chef. She will attend Albany State University majoring in Business Management. Shelby Alane Burke is the daughter of Butch and Kelly Burke. She will attend VSU where she plans to cheer and seek a degree in Early Childhood Education. Jonathon Edward McBride, son of Joey and Cindy McBride, will attend GSU and major in Art. Mary Alice Becton, daughter of Rudine and Sandy Becton, will attend EGC and then transfer to GSU seeking a degree in Early Childhood Education. Anna Nichole Gainey is the daughter of Bart and Julie Gainey. She plans to attend Southeastern Technical College to pursue a Nursing degree and specialize in pediatric oncology.

National Technical Honor Society graduates are as follows.

Greg Anthony Cooper is the son of Tyiese Denis Redfield and Marion Redfield. He plans to attend Augusta State University or Augusta Technical College. Andres Jeronimo Rangel, son of Juan Jeronimo and Luisa Jeronimo plans to join the U.S. Army and later attend EGC majoring in Computer Engineering. Tyhiry Samj Williams is the son of Barbara Williams. He will attend EGC and study Criminal Justice.
