The Barbecue Cook off and the Area Yard Sale, sponsored by the Millen-Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce was a huge success. There were several street venders, and five teams participated in the cook-off. They were: Saxon & Son, Jenkins County Farm Bureau, Millen Fire Department, Michael Curl and Steve Burke.

First place winner in the cookoff category was Saxon and Sons; second place was the Millen Fire Department; and third place went to Michael Curl. Michael also won first place in the sauce and sausage competition.

The chamber appreciates all who participated and helped sponsor this event and expressed the hope that it will be even bigger and better next year.

Also appreciated were the donations of Jenkins County Farm Bureau, Queensborough Bank and Planters Electric Membership.
