SR Whitney Nicole Muckerson graduated from basic military training April 9 at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill.

The Navy recruit completed seven weeks of classroom instruction, military drill and physical fitness training. During seven weeks of training they transitioned from civilian to sailor.

Muckerson was assigned as Master-at- Arms of her unit which means she was responsible for keeping everyone in line. She is now attending school in Pensacola, Fla. where she is training as an aviation mechanic.

Muckerson is the daughter of Connie E. Sapp and Robert Muckerson Sr. She is the granddaughter of Ollie J. Sapp and Rufus and Dorothy Muckerson, all of Millen, and Beatrice M. Taylor of Victorville, CA. She is the great-granddaughter of Lillian Muckerson of Millen.
