Get ready to make waves at the library! We have three great reading programs ready to go – one for kids, one for teens and one for adults! There will be lots of terrific events, cool prizes and you can even earn rewards for reading the books you love. The reading program starts up on June 14, so sign up now. You won’t want to miss our kickoff party at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, or the appearance by magician David Ginn that afternoon at 2 p.m.!
Want to tie-dye your t-shirt? Bring your own shirt to the library on Wednesday, June 16, at 11 a.m. and you can dye it in whatever fantastic colors and patterns you can imagine!
Do you know a creative teen or tween? Bring them to the library Wednesdays at 3 p.m. for our great teen craft programs, held every week this summer from June 16 – July 21.
We have some terrific stuff happening over at our sister library in Sylvania! On Tuesday, June 8, at 4 p.m., Kathryn Wall, author of the Bay Tanner mysteries, will be visiting to talk about her books and what she has planned next.
On Saturday, June 12, at 4 p.m., Ayoluwa African Music & Dance group will be performing at the Screven County Library. This program is supported in part by the Grassroots Arts Program of the Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly and in partnership with the Statesboro Arts Council.
New at the library: Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose. Justice is at play in this story of a murder trial. The play shows the twelve jurors as they discuss the case, and reveal many things about the jurors as they try to find justice for both victim and accused killer.
