Plans for the dedication of Cotton Avenue and all its improvements have been finalized. The Millen-Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a dedication ceremony 7 p.m. Friday, June 11.

City of Millen Mayor King Rocker, State Rep. Jon Burns, Chamber Executive Director Paula Herrington and Millen Better Hometown Manager Art Johnson are scheduled to make remarks. A street dance featuring the Hushpuppies band will begin at 8 p.m., and local restaurants will offer “Taste of Jenkins” hors d’oeuvre plates for sale.

“The improvements to Cotton Avenue are unbelievable to say the least. People who have difficulties walking can finally walk down Cotton Avenue and not worry about falling on the high and uneven sidewalks,” commented Paula Herrington.

Tickets are on sale at the chamber office for $10 each.
