One arrested in drug bust, meth lab found

GLEN WAYNE DEAN, JR. GLEN WAYNE DEAN, JR. The arrest of a Millen man on drug charges led law enforcement to the discovery of a methamphetamine lab.

On June 2, deputies of the Jenkins County Sheriff’s Department and parole officers of the Statesboro Parole Office conducted a search of a mobile home in Finch’s Trailer Parker at 3031 Finch Road in Jenkins County. The home was occupied by parolee Glen Dean and his spouse. During the search, a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine and drug related objects were discovered and seized.

Glen Wayne Dean Jr., 33, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, posses- sion of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was also charged by parole officers with parole violation. He was transported to the Jenkins County Jail where he will remain until he is returned to the state prison system.

(Photos contributed) On June 3, Jenkins County Sheriff Robert Oglesby and deputies returned to the mobile home park and searched an abandoned mobile home at the rear of the park where a clandestine methamphetamine lab was located inside and behind the home.

Drain cleaner, camp stove fuel, containers, tubing, empty tubing, empty Sudafed packages and other objects used to make methamphetamine were seized. Charges in this search are pending following further investigation.
